Textile designer Johanna Gullichsen created the Nereus pattern in 1996 as part of her Normandie collection. The pattern's clear and harmonious expression is both powerful and peaceful. The pattern, which has maintained its appeal year after year, is timeless and can still be found in Gullichsen's own woven fabric collection.
Elegance in muted tones
The Nereus pattern is the perfect choice for those who enjoy harmonious, muted tonal worlds. The pattern is available in two shades that are true to the designer's style:
Moss – a soft neutral and calming shade, perfect for a minimalist aesthetic.
Ochre – an atmospheric shade that brings earthy energy and vibrancy to the table setting.
A journey to the VAJA Finland collection
In 2024, Nereus found its way into VAJA Finland's clean-lined tableware, where its graphic pattern comes to life in a new way. The simple design language of the pattern fits perfectly with VAJA Finland's philosophy, but at the same time brings a touch of new and different look to the collection.
VAJA Finland already had a taste for patterns when it was chosen to decorate cups and saucers made for the Villa Gyllenberg museum café in 2022. The lovely pattern has since been incorporated into VAJA Finland's own collection with new products.
