The jar is beautiful as a sugar bowl or storage box for treats, jewelry and other beloved items. The jar with a lid is made of durable vitreous porcelain.
Johanna Gullichsen designed the Nereus pattern in 1996 as part of the Normandie collection of woven fabrics. The graphic pattern of rectangles and squares is beautifully suited to Vaja Finland's clean-cut tableware. All the patterns in the Normandie collection take their names from Greek mythology. Nereus is named after the eldest son of Pontus and Gaia, the gods of sea and earth. The wise Nereus was also famous for his ability to know the past and the future.
